I’ve been going to Gaynor’s Pilates classes for a number of months. The results have been amazing. After three children and years of neglect, there was no strength at all in my stomach muscles – fondly referred to by the kids as “mum’s jelly belly!!
I am now managing to do some of the higher level exercises in the class and feel so much stronger in my core muscles. Gaynor caters for all levels in the class and demonstrates for each exercise, the different levels that can be reached. She keeps the classes fun and is always very cheery and enthusiastic. I would highly recommend Gaynor’s Pilates classes.
I am in my late 60’s with some arthritis in my knees. I started attending Gaynor’s Pilates class about 18 months ago. When I begin a session I usually feel some stiffness in my knees but by the end of the class I have a much better range of movement.
There is a good range of ages in the class and everyone is very friendly. Gaynor takes the time to help those who are new to the group or are having problems with movement during the class.
Pilates has made me feel so much fitter and able to do so much more.
I’ve always been active, used to teach aerobics myself and used to push through whatever injury until one day, previously unknown to me, I discovered that I had twisted my pelvis from riding horses side saddle.
After speaking with Gaynor about my symptoms, she recommended that I see her for a consultation. Yes, my pelvis was twisted. However, through a home exercise plan she devised for me and several sessions where she manipulated my pelvis and muscles back into place, I am now free from the leg pain I had experienced for over 18 months.
I have turned into a Pilates addict. Gaynor’s classes are so inspiring. Her own personal physique and ability are outstanding. I want to be like that!
More recently, a change of job for me brought about new issues…neck, shoulders and arm pain. Gaynor’s questioning established the cause- an ill fitting computer desk coupled with long periods sitting at it. Acupuncture and vertebrae manipulation put the problem right. I can’t thank Gaynor enough for her expertise.
I had been experiencing lower back pain and other minor injuries as a result of running. I was recommended to Gaynor’s Pilates class by a friend and from the first week I noticed a difference in my body. After regularly attending her classes, I now have no back pain and I don’t pick up injuries as easily. Gaynor is extremely knowledgeable and it is reassuring to know that she recommends specific exercises for specific problems, whilst ensuring you don’t do any that might make the injuries worse.
In short, Gaynor’s Pilates classes have made me stronger, fitter and more flexible.
